Pronunciation Units
ACTIVLINGUA's pronunciation reference units are a selection of comprehensive and helpful multimedia reference and practice flipcharts. The flipchart focuses on pronunciation for listening as well as reading and speaking. They include both receptive and productive practice and there are 10 easy-to use units with key pronunciation points presented within a range of exercises from word to sentence level.
The units feature a range of exercises including minimal pair activities, sound comparisons, syllable stress, sentence stress and intonation. Recognising word sounds, recognising word stress, listen and repeat, practising word sounds, wordsearch matching words to sounds, dictionary practising word sounds, recognising silent letters. All units feature interactive elements along with audio and video material. There is also a useful reference section including phonemic symbols, interactive audio and word examples.
3D Visual Thesaurus
The Visual Thesaurus is a 3-D, interactive thesaurus and dictionary that presents unique word displays, literal maps of the English Language. Combining an intuitive graphical interface with a rich and comprehensive database of the relationships between words and meanings, the Visual Thesaurus is a new way to explore and learn the English language. With the Visual Thesaurus, activities such as looking up an unknown word, exploring parts of speech and grammatical structure, learning how to use a word appropriately in a sentence, and searching for word-replacement options are fun and engaging.
