Training

Getting started with ACTIVLINGUA is easy!

  • Self-paced interactive tutorial

  • Teacher's notes on every flipchart page

  • Simplified toolbar eases you in gradually

  • Handy Portable Teacher's Guide

  • On-line support

Right at the beginning of your experience as an ACTIVLINGUA teacher, we want you to be as confident and as proficient with the system as possible. Our interactive tutorials take place on the whiteboard and help you become an effective user, whilst actually using the board.

These tutorials enable you to acquire the necessary skills at your own pace. And through the gradual introduction of new techniques in the materials, it's possible to learn the basics in minutes and be teaching your first lesson within an hour.

Every lesson page has the simplified ACTIVLINGUA toolbar with just the tools needed for that stage of the lesson. This means you can learn about interactivity gradually through the materials, rather than trying to gain an in-depth, immediate knowledge of all the ACTIVstudio tools right from the beginning. We believe that through a context-related tuition programme, learning on a need to know basis, the teacher can quickly become familiar with all aspects of ACTIVstudio without having to experience a lengthy training period.

Also, remember, that an additional layer of support is available in the form of Teachers' Notes, embedded within every flipchart page.   So even if your mind goes blank - our support for you won't!

Teachers' Notes come in two forms - a quick guide for when you already know how to use the system and an extended guide for novice or teachers who are less familiar with the materials.

The Students Notes embedded within every flipchart page provide additional support for you to quickly understand how the students will use the materials in class.

Teacher's Guide
The portable and stylish printed Teacher's Guide complements the tutorials, providing a key to accessing all resources. It gives easy-start information and best practice notes. It has been written to encourage teachers to take it with them and browse it to gain an insight into effective use of the system.

Training Sessions
When required, helpful training sessions are delivered by experienced users of the ACTIVLINGUA resources.

On-line Support
ACTIVLINGUA provides ongoing teacher support via on-line facilities.   This is through email support and our online User Forum where like- minded teachers share ideas and experiences and receive feedback from ACTIVLINGUA and other users - User Forum

ACTIVLINGUA Toolbar
This simplified floating toolbar appears on every flipchart page so you can instantly see which tools will be used at this point of the lesson. It makes it easy for you to gradually learn the interactive tools through the materials.
